Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira has once again been booked by the UFC as the bout has now been booked for the main event at UFC 171 in Dallas on March 15th.
The bout was announced during Wednesday nights edition of “UFC Tonight” on Fox Sports 1 by Ariel Helwani, who was informed of the fight booking by UFC President Dana White.
Jones (19-1) has been the light heavyweight champion since 2011 and this will mark his seventh title defense. He is coming off a decision win at UFC 165 against Alexander Gustafsson, which is considered one of the best fights in the UFC this year.
Teixeira (22-2) is currently on a twenty fight winning streak and five of those wins have come in the UFC. His last two wins have come by stoppage in the first round, with his most recent victory coming at UFC Fight Night 28 as he defeated Ryan Bader by knockout.
UFC 171: Jones vs. Teixeira will come from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas and tickets will go on sale next month. More details on ticket information and fight booking will be announced by the UFC shortly.
