A lightweight bout has been added to UFC 169 as John Makdessi will meet Alan Patrick on the preliminary card of the February 1st event.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Tuesday afternoon.
UFC 169 takes place on February 1st from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headline by Dominick Cruz meeting Renan Barao in a bantamweight title unification bout.
Makdessi (12-2) is currently on a three fight winning streak and has an overall record of 5-2 in the UFC. During his recent winning streak, he holds wins over Sam Stout, Daron Cruickshank, and Renee Forte. His win over Forte came at UFC 165 in September and he won the fight in the first round by knockout.
Patrick (11-0) made his UFC debut in September and defeated Garrett Whiteley by TKO in the first round. It was his fourth win to come by TKO/KO and his fifth win to come in the first round.
