Zach Makovsky vs. Josh Sampo verbally agreed for UFC 170

A flyweight bout has been officially added to the UFC 170 card on February 22nd in Las Vegas as Zach Makovsky will meet Josh Sampo.UFC 170

The fight booking was confirmed by the UFC on Monday and the bout is expected to be placed on the preliminary card.

UFC 170 will come from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Sara McMann.

Makovsky (17-4) won his UFC debut at UFC on FOX 9 against Scott Jorgensen and he has won three fights in a row since being released by Bellator MMA. During his recent winning streak, all of his wins have come by decision and was the RFA flyweight champion before signing with the UFC.

Sampo (11-2) is currently on a five fight winning streak and won his UFC debut on the preliminary card of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale as he defeated Ryan Benoit by rear-naked choke submission. Three of his last five wins have come by submission, including a victory over former Bellator MMA fighter Alexis Vila.
