Through a press release, Xtreme Fighting Championships announced that the promotion has signed a broadcasting deal with one of the largest Brazilian television networks, Rede TV.
The plan for XFC as it regards Rede TV is to launch a Latin American branch of the promotion that will crown it’s own champions.
Starting in February, XFC Latin America will run ten events featuring two separate tournaments that will crown Latin American champions in the lightweight and women’s flyweight divisions.
After the Latin American champions are crowned, they will square with XFC’s American champions in an event called “MMA Copa”. The current XFC Lightweight Champion is Scott Holtzman (6-0), and the XFC Women’s Flyweight Champion is Pearl Gonzalez (2-1).
All of the XFC Latin American shows will be broadcasted on Rede TV in Brazil and on XFCMMA.com for non-Latin American viewers.
Seven fights have been announced for the first Latin American show that will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on February 8th. Thus far, four lightweight and one flyweight tournament bouts are on the card.
