The UFC 169 Weigh-Ins took place today in Newark, New Jersey and both scheduled title fights are now official as the fighters were on weight.
Today’s weigh-ins came from the Prudential Center and the same venue will host tomorrow night’s fight card.
The main event will be for the UFC bantamweight title as Renan Barao (135 lbs) defends the title against Urijah Faber (134.5 lbs) in a rematch of their bout from UFC 149, which Barao won by unanimous decision.
“I hope to knock him out,” Barao said through a translator after the weigh-ins. “I am here to fight one of the best in the world and I am here to win.
In the co-main event, Jose Aldo (145 lbs) will make his sixth UFC featherweight title defense and he will be challenged by Ricardo Lamas (144.5 lbs), who is currently on a four fight winning streak and this will be his first fight in 371 days.
The only fighter on the card to initially miss weight was main card fighter John Lineker. He weighed in at 127 pounds for his flyweight bout against Ali Bagautinov (126 lbs). He was given an additional hour to make the flyweight limit of 126 pounds, which he was able to do.
