UFC 171 Weigh-In Results: Johny Hendricks makes weight on second attempt

The UFC 171 Weigh-Ins took today in Dallas, Texas and the vacant welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler is now official as Hendricks made weight on his second attempt.   UFC 171 Poster

Today’s weigh-ins came from South Side Ballroom at Gilley’s Dallas and tomorrow’s fight card will come from the American Airlines Center.

Hendricks initially weighed in at 171.5 pounds and was given an additional two hours to make weight. He was able to make weight at 170 pounds on his second attempt and his vacant title fight with Lawler (170 lbs) is now set.

Hendricks was one of three fighters on the card to weigh in heavy on their first attempt as the other fighters to initially miss weight were Kelvin Gastelum and Renee Forte.

Gastelum would end up making weight and Forte was unable to make weight for his lightweight bout against Francisco Trevino. Forte will be fined 20 percent of his purse and his fight with Trevino will now be a catchweight bout of 157 pounds.
