With Mir out, the UFC offered the fight to Matt Mitrione and the TUF alum turned down the fight.

UFC President Dana White told the media the news after the UFC on FUEL TV 5 post fight press conference.

Mitrione is already scheduled to take on Phil De Fries in December at UFC 155 on December 29th. He didn’t want to take a fight on short notice, but would have likely taken a fight against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on short notice.

With Mitrione turning down the fight, Cormier has gone to Twitter to get a fight against UFC heavyweight Pat Barry.

After Cormier sent out the tweet for Barry to get the fight, the two fighters exchange tweet and Barry is down to take the fight.

The UFC has to find an opponent in the next couple of days for Cormier, since he is scheduled to headline the Strikeforce card on November 3rd. Barry is coming off a lost to Lavar Johnson earlier this year and a fight with Cormier would likely be a very exciting bout.
