UFC Fight Night 39 took place on Friday in Abu Dhabi and the fight night bonuses went to Roy Nelson, Clay Guida, Tatsuya Kawajiri, and Ramsey Nijem.
The bonuses were announced at the post fight press conference by UFC executive Gary Cook and each bonus is $50,000.
The fight of the night went to Guida and Kawajiri for their three round battle in the co-main event of the fight card. Guida would win the fight by unanimous decision as he was able to rock Kawajiri early in the fight and use his wrestling to secure the victory.
Guida has now won nine fight nine bonuses since entering the UFC in 2006 and this is his first bonus since winning the fight of the night bonus in 2011 at UFC on FOX 1 against Benson Henderson.
The performances of the night went to headliner Roy Nelson and lightweight Ramsey Nijem. Nelson scored a walk-off knockout in the opening round of his main event fight against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Nijem stopped Beneil Dariush by TKO in the opening round.
Nelson has now won six fight night bonuses in his UFC career and four of those bonuses have come in his last seven fights. For Nijem, this is his first fight night bonus award in his eight UFC fights.
