The season ten heavyweight tournament final is set as former champion Alexander Volkov will meet Blagoi Ivanov and the fight is targeted to take place on the preliminary card of Bellator 120 on May 17th.
Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the target date for the fight during the Bellator 116 Post Fight Press Conference.
Bellator 120 will take place from the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi on May 17th and will be headlined by Eddie Alvarez defending the Bellator lightweight title against Michael Chandler.
Volkov (21-4) has won both of his fights in this tournament by TKO/KO in the first round and has a total cage time of 4:05. His win over Mighty Mo Siliga marked his 12th career win to come in the first round by TKO/KO and three of his last four wins have come by TKO/KO.
Ivanov (11-0, 1NC) defeated Lavar Johnson on Friday night to secure his spot in the final and it was his sixth victory inside the Bellator cage. He has the second most wins in Bellator heavyweight division history and he can tie Cole Konrad for the most with a win over Volkov.
