Ultimate Fighter alum Marcus Brimage is dropping down to the bantamweight division and he will make his debut in the division at UFC 175 against Russell Doane.
The fight booking has not been made official by the UFC at this time but Brimage’s management team confirmed the fight booking on Thursday.
UFC 175 will come from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on July 5th and will be headlined by a title fight as Chris Weidman defends the UFC middleweight title against former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
Brimage (6-2) entered the UFC during The Ultimate Fighter 14 and his UFC official debut came at the live finale as he defeated Stephen Bass by unanimous decision. He would win his next two fights by decision before suffering his first defeat in the UFC against Conor McGregor at UFC on FUEL TV 9.
Doane (13-3) made his UFC debut at the beginning of this year at UFC Fight Night 34 and scored a technical submission win over Leandro Issa. It was his second straight victory and he has won four of his last five fights.
