Legacy Fighting Championships 32 took place on Friday night at the Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel and Casino and was headlined by Thomas Almeida winning the vacant bantamweight title with a first round TKO victory over Caio Macado.
The entire fight would essentially be on the feet and the end of the fight would come in the final minute of the opening round as Almeida landed a liver shot that dropped Macado. He would land one more punch before the referee came in to stop the fight.
Almeida (17-0) has now won fifteen of his fights in the first round and this is his thirteenth career win to come by TKO/KO. Prior to this fight, he stated that he hoped a victory tonight would led to a contract offer from the UFC.
Krantz snaps two fight losing streak with first round submission
The co-main event was a welterweight bout as former Bellator fighter Derrick Krantz scored a first round submission victory over former UFC fighter Kyle Bradley.
The fighters would exchange strikes for the first two minutes of the fight before Krantz was able to get the fight to the ground. Once on the ground, Krantz would work his ground game and once he got on the back of Bradley, he locked in a rear-naked choke to get the finish.
Krantz (15-8) snaps a two fight losing streak with this victory and this is his ninth career win by submission. For Bradley (18-10), the defeat snaps a two fight winning streak and this is his fourth career defeat by submission.
Mai drops Schnell in the second, finishes with submission
In a flyweight bout, former MTV reality star Matthew Schnell was submitted in the second round by Klayton Mai with a guillotine choke.
The opening round would primarily be a kickboxing battle, but Mai did look for multiple takedowns in the opening five minutes. He would be able to get the fight to the ground twice, but Schnell was able to immediate get back to his feet. While on the feet, Mai was able to land more significant strikes and the fight moved into the second round.
At the start of the second round, Mai landed a right hand that rocked Schnell and the fight went to the ground. Mai looked for a submission on the mat, but Schnell was able to depend the attempt. The fight would get back to the feet and Mai went for a standing guillotine choke, which he took to the ground and Schnell would tap out to the submission.
Mai (6-1) has now won five of his fights by submission and this is his third career win by guillotine choke submission. Schnell (3-2) has now dropped two of his last three fights after opening his career with two straight victories.
