World Series of Fighting 11 had an average viewership of 781k on NBC

The World Series of Fighting had their network premiere last Saturday afternoon on NBC and the event was headlined by Justin Gaethje retaining the promotion’s lightweight title with a second round victory against Nick Newell.WSOF 11 Poster

According to Nielsen sources, the broadcast had an average viewership of 781,000 viewers and the peak of the viewership came in at 964,000 between 5:15 p.m. ET – 5:30 p.m. ET.

When it came to the key demos for the broadcast, they drew a .35 in Males 18-49, .19 in Males 18-34, and the strongest demo came in Males 50 plus with a .62.

Overall, males made up 62 percent of the audience with a median age of 52 years old and 56 percent of the audience was age 50 and over. Also, 95 percent of the NBC affiliates aired the broadcast live and one of the markets that did not was Philadelphia.

When it came to the competition, the World Series of Fighting card went up against major sports competition in the World Cup, which saw the Netherlands defeat Costa Rica in penalty kicks. The game was the largest audience on cable last Saturday with over 5 million viewers and the fight card also went up against coverage of Wimbledon.

Coming into the card, it was very well known that this fight card will be the most viewed World Series of Fighting event. Prior to last Saturday, the biggest audience for the Las Vegas based promotion was 365,000 and that was for last month’s World Series of Fighting 10.

The key for the World Series of Fighting going forward is getting the audience that viewed the promotion for the first time on Saturday to watch their events on the NBC Sports Network.

The next fight card for the promotion on the sports network will be in less than 30 days when World Series of Fighting 12 comes from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. At this time, the promotion has not announced any fights for that fight card.
