Manny Gamburyan is dropping down to the bantamweight division and he will make his UFC 135 pound debut against Cody Gibson at UFC 178.
The fight booking was initially reported by Glendale News-Press and was later confirmed by the UFC.
UFC 178 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 27th and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier.
Gamburyan (13-8, 1NC) has gone 2-4, 1NC in his last seven fights and he had his three fight unbeaten streaked snapped in May when he was defeated by Nik Lentz at UFC Fight Night 40. His last six fights have gone the distance and his last stoppage victory came in 2010 at WEC 48 against Mike Brown.
Gibson (12-4) made his UFC debut earlier this year and was defeated by Aljamain Sterling at UFC 169. He would accept a fight on short notice at UFC Fight Night 44 against Johnny Bedford and won the fight by TKO in 38 seconds.
