World Series of Fighting 14 will take place on October 11th in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and will be headlined by former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields making his promotional debut against Ryan Ford.
The fight booking was initially reported by Top MMA News and TheMMAReport.com was able to confirm the fight booking with a World Series of Fighting official.
The fight card will come from the Northlands Expo Centre and ticket information will be released by the promotion shortly.
Shields (29-7-1, 1NC) was released by the UFC following his decision defeat to Hector Lombard at UFC 171 and the defeat snapped a four fight unbeaten streak. It was his first defeat since 2011 and he went 4-3, 1NC in his eight UFC fights.
Ford (22-4) is currently on a six fight winning streak and ton the World Series of Fighting Canadian welterweight title in February as he defeated Joel Powell in 53 seconds. It was his third straight win by stoppage and four of his last six wins have come by knockout.
