UFC on FOX 14 took place this past Saturday night at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden and was headlined by Anthony Johnson securing a light heavyweight title shot with a knockout victory against Alexander Gustafsson.
In the overnight ratings, the main card on FOX came in with 2.82 million viewers and in the finalized numbers, the UFC on FOX 14 had an average audience of 3.049 million viewers, while the peak of the main card broadcast came in the final quarter hour of the event (9:45-10:00p ET) with 3,646,000 viewers.
With the finalized numbers from Saturday’s card, UFC on FOX 14 is the highest rated and most watched UFC event on FOX since UFC on FOX 10: Henderson vs. Thomson at the beginning of 2014, which came in with 3.2 million viewers. Also, UFC on FOX 14 finished in first place in primetime Saturday night in the key male and adult demos.
Prior to the main card, the televised preliminary card aired on Fox Sports 1 with six fights and featured stoppage wins by Kenny Robertson, Makwan Amirkhani, Nikita Krylov, and Mairbek Taisumov. When it came to the average viewership, the broadcast had an average of 607,000 viewers and this viewership is slightly down from the 654,000 average viewership for UFC on FOX 13 in December.
With the television numbers for the three UFC cards in January (UFC 182, UFC Fight Night 59, and UFC on FOX 14), the UFC is off to a great start in 2015 and this trend should continue with the fights that the UFC has already booked for the first quarter of this year.
