American Top Team lightweight Luciano dos Santos will look for his second straight win in Titan FC later this month as he will meet Robert Washington in the opening bout of the March 20 fight card in Mobile, Alabama.
The fighter out of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil made his Titan FC debut in August as he defeated Jeremy Severn by TKO in the third round and it was his eighth career win by stoppage.
Dos Santos (10-7) told The MMA Report through a translator that even though it was his first fight in nearly two years, he did not feel any cage rust due to all of his training at American Top Team in South Florida.
“I feel that even though it was a two year layoff before that fight, I was taking my time in the first round,” Dos Santos said. “The second round, I came in with a strong game and I felt good about finishing the fight. I always want to finish the fight with a TKO or knockout. I am training regularly at American Top Team to help the fighters and train the fighters. I feel like it’s a daily sparring. I just needed the opportunity to showcase my skills.”
His fight on March 20 against Washington, could be a fight that steals the show. For Dos Santos, he is a fighter that wants to put on a show for the fans watching the fight and walk away with a knockout victory.
“I want it to be a good fight for the crowd,” he said. “I want to be a fighter that everyone enjoys and a fight that people will remember. Obviously, I can knock him out and finish the fight. That would be awesome. If not, at least it’s going to be a good fight.”
When it comes to his opponent, Dos Santos feels that Washington will trade strikes with him before he sees that his striking is not at the same level and Washington will attempt to take the fight to the ground.
How does Dos Santos plan to win the fight? While he wants to get the knockout victory, he will be ready for anything that happens in the fight.
“With being a Muay-Thai fighter, it’s a knockout. But whatever comes, he is going to become welcomed. If the submission comes first or the ground and pound comes first or if its a decision, I am ready for everything. Obviously, I am always going to be looking for a knockout.”
