An undisclosed injury has forced Richard Patishnock to pull out of his CES MMA 28 co-main event bout against Luis Felix and replacing Patishnock in the bout will be Reggie Merriweather.
The fight change was announced by CES MMA on Monday.
CES MMA 28 will come from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island on Friday night on AXS TV and will be headlined by former two-time Bellator tournament winner Rick Hawn facing Derek Loffer in a lightweight bout.
Merriweather (6-5) has won back to back fights and four of his last five. Both of his recent victories have come by unanimous decision and his last win came two weeks ago against David Love.
“My coach called me up, told me there’s a fight coming up and asked if I wanted it,” Merriweather said in a press release. “I said, ‘Yes.’ No hesitation. I stepped up on short notice quite a bit as an amateur. And this is a huge opportunity. It’s a great fight for me, with a great organization. Opportunities like this don’t come around very often, and I couldn’t be more happy to take advantage of it Friday.”
Felix (12-8) is coming off a decision victory at CES MMA 27 as he defeated D’Juan Owens. He is 3-1 in his last four fights and his only lost in his last four fights came against current CES MMA lightweight champion Julian Lane.
