A women’s bantamweight bout is set for a UFC event in June as former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will meet Jessica Eye.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the fight booking on Friday, but did not state the exact date for the fight.
Tate (16-5) has won three in a row since losing to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 168 in 2013. Her most recent win came in January as she defeated Sara McMann by majority decision at UFC 183.
Eye (11-2, 1NC) is coming off a win against Leslie Smith at UFC 180 in November as she won the fight via TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage. It was her first official win in the UFC and she has gone 1-1, 1NC in the promotion.
