AXS TV fight promotions RFA and Legacy will have a co-promotion event on May 8 in Mississippi and will be headlined by the promotions flyweight champions meeting in the main event of the fight card.
The event was announced during the Legacy 40 broadcast on Friday night.
“We’ve been broadcasting MMA on AXS TV for over a decade and this is one of the biggest events in our history of combat sports,” said Andrew Simon, CEO of AXS TV FIGHTS. “I have been looking forward to the day AXS TV promotions would work together to promote an all-star card like this. RFA versus Legacy features three title fights including the much dreamed about champion versus champion match-up. Thank you to the fighters, RFA and Legacy for making this historic night come together.”
In the main event, RFA flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja will meet Legacy flyweight champion Damacio Page and the winner of the fight will be awarded a superfight title belt. In addition to the superfight, the promotions will also have two title fights on the card as Luke Sanders will defend the RFA bantamweight title against Terrion Ware and Dave Burrow will face Mike Bronzoulis for the vacant Legacy lightweight title.
