Bellator 135 took place on Friday night at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma and was headlined by Marcos Galvao winning the bantamweight title with a verbal submission over Joe Warren in the second round.
During a scramble on the ground, Galvao was able to get ahold of Warren’s leg and went for a kneebar. After Warren screamed in pain, referee John McCarthy stopped the fight due to a verbal tapout.

Do I follow along for Warren-Galvao or leave Twitter and give myself something to look forward to around 10:55 p.m. tonight?

A scream is considered a tap
— Jason Floyd (@Jason_Floyd) March 28, 2015
Wow, Warren wouldn’t tap. There was no doubt that was in deep.

1st career submission win for Marcos Galvao
— Jason Floyd (@Jason_Floyd) March 28, 2015
Galvao told me he would win by submission last week
— Jason Floyd (@Jason_Floyd) March 28, 2015
Having flashbacks to D’Alelio screaming against Rousey and the fight being called. You can’t scream. That’s a verbal submission.
— Jeremy Botter (@jeremybotter) March 28, 2015
Joe Warren really selling ‘bogus stoppage’ routine. He screamed. As they’re saying on broadcast, BJM tells them that’s a tap. Fight’s over.
— Brett Okamoto (@bokamotoESPN) March 28, 2015
Warren had no way out of that anyway. If Galvao kept cranking, Warren would be out for a year-plus.
