A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC 189 card on July 11 in Las Vegas as Cody Garbrandt will meet Henry Briones on the preliminary card.
The fight booking was announced on Friday afternoon by the UFC.
UFC 189 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by a title fight as Jose Aldo defends the featherweight title against Conor McGregor.
Garbrandt (6-0) made his UFC debut in January and defeated Marcus Brimage by TKO at UFC 182. All of his wins have come by TKO/KO and four of them have come in the first round. Briones (16-4-1) is unbeaten in his last eight fights and defeated Guido Cannetti by submission at UFC 180. Six of his last seven wins have come by stoppage and four of those are by TKO/KO.
