Bellator 136 took place on Friday night at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California and was headlined by Will Brooks retaining the lightweight title with a decision win against Dave Jansen.
Jansen was the aggressor during the opening round and took the round on the judges scorecards. However, that would be the only round he would win as Brooks would take the fight over and retain the Bellator 155 pound title.

Bellator 136 main event up next. Will Brooks vs. Dave Jansen for the lightweight title. Many words have been said, now they’ll settle it.

Still not sure about round one. Jansen way busier but Brooks more efficient and landed harder.

Brooks is winning, but in a manner that could open the door for Jansen to steal a split decision.

Brooks is suffocating Jansen in the clinch, keeping the pressure & that right hand’s landing also. Jansen cut on his nose from an elbow.

Brooks steps it up in round four, batters Jansen. Jansen hanging in there. Old-school Team Quest tough.

Will Brooks will run you outta gas + smash your grill in. Not quite woodchipper status (yet), but he’s at least a heavy duty paper shredder.

Jansen looks exhausted. Brooks wearing him down against the cage. A minute left to go, I have this for Brooks 49-46

Gave all five rounds to Brooks. The first one was close. Could have gone either way. 50-45 or 49-46 are acceptable for the champ.
