Bellator 136 took place on Friday night at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California and the main card on Spike TV was headlined by Will Brooks retaining the lightweight title with a decision victory against Dave Jansen.
Also on the main card, Rafael Carvalho improved to 2-0 in Bellator as he scored a split decision victory over Joe Schilling in a middleweight bout.

- Brooks is now tied with Liam McGeary for the longest active winning streak in Bellator.
- After going 25 minutes with Jansen, Brooks now has the 10th most cage time in Bellator history (2:21:51).
- Brooks is now 8-1 in Bellator and he is tied with Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler for the 2nd most wins in the Bellator lightweight division history.
- The defeat for Jansen snaps a seven fight winning streak and this is his first defeat since 2010, which was a decision lost to Ricardo Lamas at WEC 50.
- Since dropping his pro debut, Carvalho has won eleven fights in a row and this is his 2nd career win by decision.
- Schilling is now 2-4 in MMA and this is the first time he has gone to the decision in a MMA bout.
- Marcin Held submitted Alexander Sarnavskiy with a kneebar and he now has the most submission wins in Bellator history.
- With the victory, Held has the most wins in Bellator lightweight division history and is tied with four fighters for 3rd most wins in Bellator history.
- Held has won six fights in a row and he is tied with Patricio Pitbull for the 2nd longest active winning streak in Bellator history.
- Prior to Bellator 136, Sarnavskiy had never been defeated by stoppage and it snaps a five fight winning streak.
- Tony Johnson won his second straight fight with a decision win over Alexander Volkov and is 5-1 in his last six fights.
- Volkov had won five in a row heading into Bellator 136 and this is his 2nd career defeat by decision.
- Joey Beltran defeated Brian Rogers by majority decision and he becomes the first fighter in Bellator history to win a fight in three different weight classes.
- Saad Awad won his third straight fight as he won a decision against Rob Sinclair and he is now tied with Patricky Pitbull for the 3rd most wins in Bellator lightweight division history.
- John Teixeira scored a split decision win over Fabricio Guerriero on the preliminary card and both of his wins in Bellator are by split decision.
- Chad George submitted Mark Borgeas with a von flue choke and this is the 2nd von flue choke submission in Bellator history (Brent Weedman, Bellator 62).
