With Ryan Ford out, Smealinho Rama vs. Blagoi Ivanov elevated to main event of WSOF 21

Following Ryan Ford pulling out of the WSOF 21 main event due to an injury, the heavyweight title fight between champion Smealinho Rama and Blagoi Ivanov has been named the new main event of the fight card.

The new main event was confirmed to The MMA Report by a WSOF official.

WSOF 21 will come from the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on June 5 and the main card will air live on NBCSN.

Rama (9-1) became the inaugural WSOF heavyweight champion last year when he defeated Derrick Mehman by TKO at WSOF 14. He is currently on a three fight winning streak and his last two wins have come by TKO in the first round. Ivanov (11-1, 1NC) signed with WSOF at the beginning of the year after exiting Bellator. This will be his first fight since losing to Alexander Volkov in the Bellator season ten heavyweight tournament.
