Former Invicta FC atomweight champion Michelle Waterson has signed a contract with the UFC and she will compete in the UFC strawweight division.
The signing was announced during Monday’s edition of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1.
Waterson (12-4) won the Invicta FC atomweight title in 2013 when she defeated Jessica Penne by armbar submission. She successfully defended the title against Yasuko Tamada in 2014 and she lost the title at the end of last year when she was submitted by Herica Tiburcio.
She is expected to make her UFC debut later this year and a targeted opponent is not known at this time.
