A light heavyweight bout that was reported recently is now official for UFC 190 in Brazil as former Strikeforce champion Rafael Cavalcante will meet Patrick Cummins.
The fight booking was made official today by the UFC.
UFC 190 will come from the HSBC Arena on August 1st and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia.
Cavalcante (12-5, 1NC) has gone 1-2 since entering the UFC and he will enter this fight following a decision defeat at UFC 174 against Ryan Bader. His only win in the UFC came against Igor Pokrajac in 2013 as he won by TKO. Cummins (7-2) will also enter this fight following a defeat as he lost to Ovince St. Preux at UFC on FOX 15. He is 3-2 in the UFC and two of those wins have come by decision.
