Chris Weidman walked into the MGM Grand Garden Arena as the middleweight champion and he walked out of the cage as champion as he defeated Vitor Belfort by TKO in the first round. 
Belfort was able to get off to a great start and stunned Weidman with strikes. However, Weidman would easily get the fight to the ground and wasted no time in getting to the mount position. He would land vicious shots from the position and referee Herb Dean came in to stop the fight.
