According to Nielsen sources, the UFC 187 preliminary overnight viewership number for the prelims landed at 780,000 (8:08-10p ET) viewers and the post fight show on Fox Sports 1 drew 118,000 viewers.
The UFC PPV Prelims for UFC 187: Johnson vs. Cormier scored 780,000 viewers, a 12% increase over the prelims for UFC 173 on 5/24/14 (697,000). Among A18-49, the card was up 19% (453,000 vs. 382,000).
When it comes to the sport competition on Saturday, the night was won by NBA Western Conference Final between Golden State and Houston. The game drew an average audience of 5.6 million and ESPN had the top five sports programs on Saturday.
The UFC 187 preliminary card was the top viewed show on Fox Sports 1 on Saturday and the number two show on the cable sports network that day was NASCAR Sprint Cup racing with 503,000 viewers.
