The eleventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter 21 premiered on Wednesday night on Fox Sports 1 and the show began with the American Top Team celebrating Nathan Coy’s win during last week’s episode.
While American Top Team was celebrating, the Blackzilians team talked about how the competition is not over and they will not celebrate until they win the competition. With two fights left in the show, the Blackzilians only need one victory to win the show, while American Top Team needs to win both fights.
With a three days to go before the next fight, the Blackzilians turn to Jason Jackson as the fighter who will represent them in the eleventh fight of the season. This will be the second fight for Jackson in the competition as he defeated Marcelo Alfaya in episode six.
Over at the American Top Team gym, the coaches decide that they want to give Michael Graves another shot in the competition. He lost in the opening fight in the competition to Kamaru Usman and did not handle the defeat in a way the coaches would have liked. Graves mentions it’s going to be a tough weight cut, but is ready to make the weight and fight next for his team.
The next day, the owners challenge takes place at a local track. The challenge for this season was a 4×4 relay race and the winning owner would receive $10,000 and all of their fighters would get $1,500. Dan Lambert would beat Glenn Robinson to the finish line and secure the victory for American Top Team.
Later that night, tension is high at the fighter house. Usman and Sabah Homasi get into an exchange of words in the kitchen. Homasi accuses of Usman of holding the fence during his fight against Graves and Usman tells him to keep his name out of his mouth. They continued to exchange words about each other and Usman ends up leaving the kitchen and stating “keep my name out of your mouth.”
The following day, the weigh-ins for the eleventh fight take place at the Blackzilian gym. Jackson and Graves step forward as the fighters who would be fighting the next day. Both fighters made weight and the American Top Team coaches believe this is a great matchup for them. On the other side, the Blackzilians talk about the facial reaction of Graves during the weigh-ins and they are confident that Jackson will win the competition for them.
Both fighters go through a final training session at their respective gyms and the Blackzilian coaches work with Jackson on the same plan. The American Top Team coaches were doing the same thing and Graves would end up getting hurt. He suffered a stinger and said he had this same type of injury when he was 17 and went out and won a wrestling match.
On fight day, both teams head to the American Top Team gym for the eleventh fight. Graves goes through a pre-fight workout to make sure he is ready and the coaches were happy with what they saw. Both fighters head to the cage and get ready to battle.
As the fight started, Graves threw a high kick that would miss and Jackson began to take control of the cage. Jackson land a kick that seemed to hit Graves in the groin. However, the referee would allow the fight to continue and Jackson would land a flurry of punches that resulted in Graves going to the mat. He would pour on the punches and knees. The referee would warn Jackson about hitting the back of the head and Graves would end up flipping the position. He would end up on the back of Jackson and began to look for a rear-naked choke. Jackson would end up tapping out and Robinson began to flip out. He would yell at the Florida State Boxing Commission representatives and attempts to confront the referee outside of the American Top Team gym.
With the victory by Graves, the competition is now tied heading into the final fight of the season. The final fight will be part of next week’s episode and will come from the American Top Team gym.
