Sean O’Connell recently pulled out of his UFC Fight Night 74 bout against Misha Cirkunov and the UFC has officially announced that stepping up on short notice to take on Cirkunov will be Daniel Jolly.
UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday.
UFC Fight Night 74 will come from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on August 23 and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Max Holloway meets Charles Oliveria.
Jolly (5-0) made his pro debut in 2011 and three of his five victories have come by stoppage in the first round. This will be his first fight since May of last year, which was a decision win against Josh Foster. Cirkunov (9-2) is currently on a four fight winning streak and is coming off a submission win in May against Shaun Asher. All of his victories have come by stoppage in the first round and four of those have come by submission.
