Cain Velasquez lost the UFC heavyweight title in June against Fabricio Werdum and he will be getting an immediate rematch against Werdum.
The fight booking was reported by Ariel Helwani on today’s edition of UFC Tonight as he was informed of the booking by UFC President Dana White.
Werdum submitted Velasquez in June at UFC 188 and the victory unified the UFC heavyweight title. It was the sixth straight win for Werdum and it was the first fight for Velasquez since 2013 when he defeated Junior dos Santos at UFC 166.
It has been reported previously that this title fight will serve as the co-main event of UFC 194 on December 12, but White told Helwani that the date and venue for the fight has not been determined at this time.
