The co-main event of UFC 195 on January 2 in Las Vegas is slated to be a title fight as Joanna Jedrzejczyk is likely to defend the UFC women’s strawweight title against Claudia Gadelha.
UFC President Dana White told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times about the fight booking earlier today.
UFC 195 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be headlined by UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey defending the title against Holly Holm.
Jedrzejczyk (10-0) became the UFC women’s strawweight champion earlier this year when she beat Carla Esparza and is coming off a successful title defense against Jessica Penne. Prior to winning the title, she defeated Gadelha by split decision at UFC on FOX 13. Gadelha (13-1) has gone 2-1 in the UFC and all of her fights in the promotion have gone to a decision. Following the lost to Jedrzejczyk, she returned to action earlier this month and defeated Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190.
The current UFC 195: Rousey vs. Holm fight card is below.
Ronda Rousey (12-0) vs. Holly Holm (9-0)
Joanna Jedrzejczyk (10-0) vs. Claudia Gadelha (13-1)
