The co-main event of Bellator 143 on Friday night was a key middleweight bout as Kendall Grove scored his sixth career victory by TKO/KO as he defeated Joey Beltran in the third round.
In a fight that would play out on the feet, Grove (22-15, 1NC) would land a right hand that dropped Beltran and he would land a couple of more punches before the referee came in to stop the fight.
“You can’t get into a firefight with Joey that’s where he made his name. He’s dangerous. I knew if I kept my composure, then eventually the knockout would come and it did,” Grove said. “I was trying to set him up and get him comfortable and once I saw him at the end of my jab I knew it was going to end. I just wish it didn’t have to go until the third round. I want the winner of Halsey and Carvalho.”
