The UFC has added a light heavyweight bout to UFC on FUEL TV 7 on February 16th as Jimi Manuwa will face Cyrille Diabate.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Friday and the fight will likely air on the main card, which will be shown on FUEL TV.
Manuwa (12-0) was signed by the UFC earlier this year and made his debut against Kyle Kingsbury at UFC on FUEL TV 5. He won the fight at the end of the second round when the cage side doctor stopped the fight since Kingsbury’s eye was closed.
All of his 12 career victories by Manuwa are by stoppage with 11 of the wins coming by knockout. He has only been to the second round three times in his career and his fight against Kingsbury was the longest fight of his career.
Diabate (19-8-1) has won four of his six fights in the UFC and is currently on a two fight winning streak. During his recent winning streak, he defeated Tom DeBlass by majority decision at UFC on FUEL TV 2 and followed that up with a submission victory at UFC 154 against Chad Griggs.
UFC on FUEL TV 7 takes place on February 16th from Wimbley Arena in London, England and will be headlined by Renan Barao defending the interim bantamweight title against Michael McDonald.
