Former UFC middleweight Steve Montgomery will be returning to competition on April 1 in South Florida as he will meet Avery McPhatter in the co-main event of Absolute Fighting Championship 25.
Montgomery announced the fight booking on social media.
Absolute Fighting Championship 25 will come from the Omni Auditorium in Coconut Creek, Florida and tickets are currently on sale for the event.
Montgomery (8-4) dropped both of his fights in the UFC and this will be his first fight since losing to Daniel Kelly at UFC 193. Prior to coming to the UFC, Montgomery has won five in a row and four of those wins came by stoppage. McPhatter (9-6) is currently on a six fight winning streak and is coming off a win in January against Clayton McKinney. During his recent winning streak, five of the six wins have come by stoppage and two of his last three wins are by submission.
