Former light heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson will be returning to the octagon in September as he will be facing Jan Blachowicz at UFC Fight Night on September 3 in Hamburg, Germany.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Friday morning and the promotion also announced that Brad Pickett will meet Henry Briones in a bantamweight bout on this fight card.
UFC Fight Night Hamburg will come from the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany on September 3 and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as Andrei Arlovski meets Josh Barnett.
Gustafsson (16-4) has lost his last two fights and the most recent defeat came in October at UFC 192 against current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. He is 1-3 in his last four fights and his last win came in 2014 against Jimi Manuwa. Blachowicz (19-5) scored a decision victory in April against Igor Pokrajac and he is 2-2 in the UFC. His other win in the UFC came in his promotional debut as he defeate Ilir Latifi by TKO at UFC Fight Night 53.
