Former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit will be returning to the octagon in August at UFC 202 as he will meet Demian Maia.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Tuesday afternoon.
UFC 202 will come from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 20 and will be headlined by a rematch in the welterweight division as Nate Diaz meets current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
Condit (30-9) enters this fight following a split decision lost to welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 195 at the beginning of the year and he is 2-2 in his last four fights. Following the lost to Lawler, Condit had hinted at retirement and was looking for an immediate rematch against Lawler. Maia (23-6) is currently on a five fight winning streak and is coming off a submission win in May against Matt Brown. During his winning streak, two of the five wins have come by submission.
