The UFC will be heading to Portland, Oregon next week for UFC Fight Night 96 and the featured preliminary bout on the UFC Fight Pass portion of the event will be a middleweight bout between Tamdan McCrory and Nate Marquardt.
UFC officials made the announcement of McCrory vs. Marquardt being the UFC Fight Pass featured preliminary bout on Tuesday afternoon.
UFC Fight Night 96 will come from the Moda Center on October 1 and the main card on FS1 will be headlined by a bantamweight bout as John Linker will meet John Dodson.
McCrory (14-4) returned to the UFC last year and is coming off a knockout defeat against Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Fight Night 89. The defeat snapped a three fight winning streak and it was his first lost since being defeated by John Howard in 2009. Marquardt (34-15-2) is also entering this fight following a knockout defeat as he lost to Thiago Santos at UFC 198. He is 2-5 since returning to the UFC and both of those wins came by stoppage.
