A featherweight bout has been added to UFC on FUEL TV 9 on April 6th in Sweden as TUF Alum Akira Corassani will face Robbie Peralta.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Monday and it’s not clear at this time if the fight will take place on the main card on FUEL TV or the preliminary card on Facebook.
Corrassani (10-3, 1NC) was a participant on “The Ultimate Fighter 14” and made it to the semifinal round of the show. He was defeated by Dennis Bermudez by submission and was scheduled to take part in the live finale and face Steven Siler. However, he had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
He was then scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden against Jason Young, but he had to pull out of the fight with an injury. He would end up making his UFC debut at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in England against Andy Ogle and won the fight by split decision.
Peralta (16-3, 1NC) was signed by the UFC in 2011 and made his debut at Ultimate Fight Night 25 against Mike Lullo and won by unanimous decision. He would make his second appearance in the octagon at UFC on FOX 1 and originally defeated Mackens Semezier by TKO. However, the fight was changed to a no contest by the California State Athletic Commission for a headbutt that lead to the end of the fight.
His most recent fight in the UFC came at UFC on FUEL TV 5 and he scored a 23 second knockout in the first round over Jason Young. He has gone 9-0, 1NC in his last ten fights and his last defeat came in 2009, which was a submission defeat.
UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place on April 6th from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden and will be headlined by a five round light heavyweight contest as Alexander Gustafsson meets Gegard Mousasi, who will be making his UFC debut.
