The XFC will be returning to ASX TV next month for XFC 20: High Octane and the organization has announced the main event.
In a lightweight bout, Eric Reynolds (15-5) will meet XFC newcomer Danny Salinas (11-4) at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee on September 28th.
Reynolds is a veteran of the Bellator Fighting Championships and has won his first two fights in the XFC.
He recently challenged Nick Newell to fight him for the XFC lightweight title, which Newell accepted after his win at XFC 19. Instead of waiting for that fight in December, Reynolds elected to take a fight now.
“Reynolds sounds excited, he thinks it’s a good match up, he sees some holes in Salinas’ game that he thinks he can expose,” said XFC President John Prisco. “Personally I think this is going to be a very exciting fight. Both of these guys like to stand and keep to the striking, and a lot of times that makes for the most exciting fights. They both have knock-out power and Eric has a lot riding on this fight, so I know he’s going to bring his A-game for this one.”
Salinas enters this fight by winning three of his last four fights and two of those wins by by stoppage. During his career, he has finished seven of his opponents and has only gone the distance two times in his career.
