UFC President Dana White told the attending media in Winnipeg today about the plans to have this fight take place later this year and is likely to be UFC 167.

White did not state whether the fight would take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena or the Mandalay Bay Events Center which are the two venues the UFC uses when they do shows in Las Vegas.

The UFC has not requested a November date with the Nevada State Athletic Commission at this time but they should be requesting a date in the near future.

St-Pierre (24-2) is coming off a successful title defense against Nick Diaz at UFC 158 and this will be the first time he has competed outside of Canada since his win over Dan Hardy at UFC 111 in March of 2010. That fight took place in New Jersey and his last fight in Las Vegas was in 2009 when he defeated Thiago Alves at UFC 100.

Hendricks (15-1) has been asking for his shot at the title since his win at UFC 154 against Martin Kampmann. After the victory, he appeared to be next up for St-Pierre but the welterweight champion decided he wanted to fight Diaz next. With Diaz getting the next shot, Hendricks took a fight against Carlos Condit at UFC 158 and won by unanimous decision.

This fight is expected to headline UFC 167 but this numbered event could changed based off the UFC fall lineup. Stay tuned to TheMMAReport.com for more details on this fight and the exact date and venue it will take place at.
