Bobby Lashley is out of next month’s Bellator 134 with an undisclosed injury and James Thompson is now targeted to face Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in a heavyweight bout.
Sources confirmed the fight change to TheMMAReport.com on Monday and the fight change has not been announced by Bellator at this time.
Bellator 134 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and is scheduled to be headlined by a title fight as Douglas Lima defends the welterweight title against Paul Daley.
Lawal (14-4, 1NC) has won back to back fights and will face Thompson in a heavyweight bout. His most recent win came in November as he defeated Joe Vedepo by TKO in the third round at Bellator 131. Thompson (20-14, 1NC) is unbeaten in his last six fights and won his Bellator debut last year against Eric Prindle. Three of his last four wins have come by stoppage, including a first round TKO against Prindle.
