A reported rematch is now official for UFC 190 on August 1 in Brazil as former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will meet Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
The UFC announced the fight booking on Friday.
UFC 190 will come from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will be headlined by Ronda Rousey defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia.
Rua (22-10) defeated Nogueira in the 2005 Pride Middleweight Grand Prix quarterfinal by unanimous decision and he will enter this fight with back to back defeats. His last victory came in late 2013 as he defeated James Te Huna by knockout at UFC Fight Night 33.
Nogueira (21-6) will also enter this fight following a defeat as he lost to Anthony Johnson last year at UFC on FOX 12 by knockout. The defeat snapped a two fight winning streak and he has gone 4-3 since entering the UFC in 2009.
The current UFC 190: Rousey vs. Correia fight card is below.
Ronda Rousey (11-0) vs. Bethe Correia (9-0)
Mauricio Rua (22-10) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-6)
