Douglas Lima vs. Chidi Njokuani announced as co-main event of Bellator 156

Former Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima will be returning to competition in June at Bellator 156 as he will meet Chidi Njokuani in the co-main event of the fight card coming from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

The fight booking was made official by Bellator on Tuesday.

Bellator 156 will take place on Friday, June 17 and will be headlined by a title fight rematch as Marcos Galvao makes his first bantamweight title defense as he will be challenged by former champion Eduardo Dantas.

Lima (26-6) lost the Bellator title last year when he was defeated by Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 140. The defeat snapped a five fight winning streak and this will be his first fight since losing the title. Njokuani (14-4, 1NC) is unbeaten in his last six fights and won his Bellator debut in November as he defeated Ricky Rainey by unanimous decision. Eight of his fourteen wins have come by TKO/KO and is 5-0 when the fight goes to the scorecards.
