Saul Almeida plans to stop the run of Bruce Boyington at WSOF 31 and send him back to New England Fights

Saul Almeida will be returning to the World Series of Fighting cage on Friday night at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut as he will meet Bruce Boyington in a lightweight bout on the preliminary card of World Series of Fighting 31.

Almeida (18-6) enters this fight following a lost to Alexandre Almeida in a featherweight bout and the defeat snapped a five fight winning streak. He will look to get back on track at World Series of Fighting 31 and he was a guest on this past Wednesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast” to preview his fight against Boyington.

“I try to not pay attention to what he does,” Almeida stated on The MMA Report Podcast. “I know he is a striker. I know he is a taekwondo black belt. But I heard a lot about him and I already know what he is going to do. So I really don’t pay attention to it. I know my skills and what I am going to do and I can’t adjust my skills to him because I know what I can do. That is all I can do so that will be more than enough to beat him. He drops the [New England Fights lightweight] title. I guess he wants to go on this run but June 17, it’s pretty much going to end for him and he is going to have to go back to New England Fights.”
