Ulysses Gomez replaces Ian McCall at UFC on FOX 4

The UFC recently announced that Ian McCall would be returning to the octagon at UFC on FOX 4, but McCall has suffered an injury and is off the card. Replacing McCall against John Moraga is Ulysses Gomez.

The UFC made the announcement on their website on Monday and the fight will take place on the preliminary card on FUEL TV.

Gomez (9-2) will be making his UFC debut in this bout and he comes to the UFC from the Tachi Palace Fights. During his MMA career, he has competed as a bantamweight and flyweight.

During his stint in the Tachi Palace Fights, he won the flyweight and bantamweight title. He won the bantamweight title in December and has won seven of his last eight fight. He is currently on a two fight winning streak and both wins have come by submission.

Moraga (10-1) will also be making his UFC debut next Saturday night and is currently on a four fight winning streak. His only loss came in 2010 when he lost a decision to UFC fighter and Ultimate Fighter winner John Dodson. During his recent winning streak, three of his four victories are by submission and six of his career wins are by stoppage.

UFC on FOX 4 takes place on August 4th from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be headlined by former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua taking on Brandon Vera.
