Matt Hamill walked away from mixed martial arts nearly one year ago and the Ultimate Fighter alum has decided to come back.
He will make his return to the octagon on September 22nd at UFC 152 and he will face UFC newcomer Roger Hollett.
The UFC made the announcement of the fight on their website and this fight will likely take place on the preliminary card.
Hamill (10-4) was a contestant on season three of “The Ultimate Fighter” and was on a five fight winning streak before losing his last two fights in the UFC. He has won three fight night bonuses in his UFC career and holds a disqualification win over current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. He took on Jones in late 2009 and was dominated by the current champion. However, Jones was disqualified when he used illegal elbows.
Hollett (13-3) is a Canadian fighter and is currently on a five fight winning streak. His last fight came at Bellator 57 and he got a split decision victory over John Hawk. He is known as a finisher as 11 of his 13 professional wins have come by knockout or submission.
UFC 152 takes place on September 22nd from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto and will be headlined by Joseph Benavidez taking on Demetrious Johnson for the first ever flyweight title.
