Ronda Rousey does not like to waste time when she enters the cage as she retained the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title with an armbar submission victory in the first round against Sarah Kaufman.
Rousey (6-0) has six professional mixed martial arts fights and she has won every fight by armbar in the first round.
She came out and rushed in front of Kaufman and looked for a judo throw. She would get the fight to the ground and end up on top of her opponent. She immediately looked for the armbar submission and Kaufman attempted to defend against the submission.
As Kaufman moved around in attempt to get out of the hold, Rousey continued to look for the submission and she eventually got Kaufman to tap. The fight was officially stopped at 54 seconds and this is the fifth victory that she has, that has ended in less than one minute.
Following the conclusion of the fight, Rousey made it clear that she wants her next fight to be against former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
“People want to see you have the first fair fight of your life,” Rousey said. “I am the champion now. The champ doesn’t go to you, you come to the champ. Come down to 135 and let’s settle this.”
Cyborg is currently suspended by the California State Athletic Commission and can not re-apply for a fighters license until December 16th. She recently said that she would not come down to 135 and she has never been able to make the weight.
