The final fight on the UFC 150 preliminary card on FX will be in the featherweight division as former Ultimate Fighter finalist Dennis Bermudez (8-3) meets Tommy Hayden (8-1).
Bermudez was a finalist on season 14 of the reality show and was defeated by Diego Brandao by armbar submission in the first round. He returned to the octagon at UFC on FOX 3 and scored a unanimous decision victory over Pablo Garza.
Prior to entering the Ultimate Fighter house, he had lost two in a row after starting his career with seven straight victories. He started his MMA career with four stoppage victories, but his last four victories are by decision.
Hayden made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC on FX against Fabricio Camoes as a lightweight and was defeated in the first round by rear-naked choke submission. Featherweight is his natural weight class and took the fight with Camoes because it was in the UFC. Five of his eight career wins are by submission and two of his last three wins are by submission.
Hayden will have a six inch reach advantage and the key for him will be to stop the takedowns of Bermudez. During his two fights in the UFC, Bermudez has a takedown accuracy of 90 % and has defended 67% of his opponents takedowns.
Bermudez will look to push the pace and use his wrestling to control the fight. Hayden has said that he wants to put his hands on his opponent and he will need to stop the takedowns to win this fight.
