UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 14th in Australia, which will serve as the finale to “TUF: The Smashes” and a light heavyweight bout as been added to the card as Joey Beltran takes on Anthony Perosh.
The news of the fight was reported by The Daily Telegraph in Australia and the fight will likely take place on the preliminary card.
Beltran (14-8) recently returned to the UFC and this time as a light heavyweight. In his first stint with the UFC, he was a heavyweight and had a record of 3-4.
After being released earlier this year, Beltran decided he would move down to the light heavyweight division. He took a fight in April and won a unanimous decision at C3 Fights against Anton Talamante.
He was brought back to the UFC when the organization was forced to shuffle various fights around and he faced James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL TV 4. He lost the fight by unanimous decision, but won the fight of the night bonus for his performance.
Perosh (13-7) was on a three fight winning streak heading into UFC 149 in July. At UFC 149, he took on UFC newcomer Ryan Jimmo and Perosh was defeated in seven seconds by knockout.
He is currently on his second stint in the UFC and all three of his UFC wins are by either submission or knockout. Perosh is from Australia and has been on the two previous UFC cards that have taken place in his home country.
UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 14th from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be headlined by George Sotiropoulos taking on Ross Pearson, who are the coaches on “TUF Smashes.”
